Christmas Planner

Hi Everyone,
I was having some trouble getting into the holiday spirit this early to get all my cards made, so I decided to make myself a Christmas Planner.

I made the entire planner using one manila file folder! I love how it turned out and I can just change the label on the front and use it from year to year!

Have a great day!

Birthday Invitation

Hi Everyone,

My oldest is turning 3 next month and we are actually having his party at a farm!! He is so excited and I wanted to stick with a farm theme :-) I love my create a critter cartridge and used my design studio to measure the barn and get rid of the heart that was on there. I also had this adorable cow on there to which is perfect. For the party hat, balloons, and present I used my newest cartridge, Birthday Bash! It was perfect for the finishing touches! He loves looking at his invitation :-) I will post more pics of the party favors once I figure out what I am going to do!

Thanks for looking!

Rest in "Pieces"

Hi crafty friends!

Today, I have a fun little Halloween goodie for you :-) I traced some coffins from a coffin candy container I found at Walmart for a dollar. Originally, I was going to just put a bunch of candy in there but then I got to thinkin (which is never a good thing!!) I knew I had some tombstones on my Mini Monsters cart so I cut it at 2 inches and shadowed it. I took a white paint pen and wrote the words "Rest in Pieces" and then inked it with silver ink. I filled a mini clear bag with Reese's Pieces and attached the tombstone to it, laid it in the coffin on top of some tissue paper, then finished it off with a ribbon and plastic spider. I really love how they turned out and think they are a lot of fun, plus they are super easy to make!

Happy Turkey Day!

Hi Everyone,

There is so much attention paid to Halloween and Christmas, that sometimes I start to feel sorry for Thanksgiving :-) I found this adorable paper and Ribbon at Hobby Lobby, used a Pink Cricut stamp set, and finished it off with this cute leaf brad that I found in a set at Target in the dollar section!! I really liked how it turned out :-) This is going out to the winner of my first giveaway (she chose Thanksgiving!) I am offering a Thanksgiving special. For a limited time, these are only $6 each, normally $8! If you would like to order, please send me and email at calbekah@aol.com

Enjoy!

Fun Halloween goodie jar!

Hi Everyone!

My husband is a teacher and has a couple really good teacher friends that I wanted to do something special for. I found these adorable containers (really heavy duty!) at the dollar store. I love the design on them so just decided to fill them with some candy and pumpkin poop :-) Of course, I needed to spruce it up a little, so I added a tag from Sweet Treats, my drippy goo punch and some of the plastic spider rings (with the ring part cut off). I tied it off with some curling ribbon and really like how it turned out. It was super easy and he called me and told me they really enjoyed them :-)

Brightening someone else's day is the best part of crafting for me because I love to see the smile that it brings :-)

Baby Shower gift and card

Hey Everyone,
I decided to take a break from all of the Halloween madness and get ready for a baby shower I am going to tomorrow! I wish I could claim this card as my own design, but it's not :-( I found this over at the canadiennickelscrap'n.blogspot.com She used the two panel shapes from the George cartridge and then shadowed them. I love it so much and thought it would be perfect. Instead of a cake like she did though, I added this adorable sillohuette of this pregnant mommy from New Arrival! I love how it turned out!
Next, I wanted to make one of my bind it all "post it note" holders for her. Any new mom would love to have a place to jot things down so they don't forget :-) I cute the little scalloped circles at 1 1/2 and 1 inches to layer them, then I hand wrote 'New Mommy" inside. I really like how it turned out and how these can be decorated for any occasion!

Keep checking back! There is a good chance there will be another giveaway in the near future and you don't want to miss it!

Witches Broom gift bag

Ok, I know this is my second post today but I just had to share this cute idea I found at scrapellasblog.blogspot.com ! Using ordinary brown lunch bags and a stick, I was able to make a unique gift bag to put some Halloween goodies in!! I LOVE this idea! It was so easy to do and I think it turned out adorable. The tag was cut from sweet treats and I used my drippy goo punch. The witches hat is from Mini Monsters! Let me know what you think!!!

My First "Bind It All" project!!

Hi Everyone!
I am so very excited to share this project with you! My birthday isn't officially until the end of November but my dad was sweet enough to get me a Bind it All now so I can make all kinds of gifts and projects for an upcoming craft fair!
I like to create things that I would love to have or receive! This project is a "post it" note holder that can be carried around in your purse or left in your car to have on hand. I cut chipboard at 3 and a half by 3 and a half, covered it with some cute halloween paper, ran it through my bind it all and finished it off with some coordinating ribbon and a little sentiment on the front! The best part is, when you run out of post-its, it can just be refilled!! I am going to make one for every month and switch them out so I can use them from year to year!!

I am selling these for $8 a piece if you are interested! Just contact me at calbekah@aol.com or on my facebook page under Rebekah Ostrus

I can do any holiday or occasion you would like and they make great last minute gifts that you know will be used and appreciated!!

thanks for visiting :-)

Some more mini monster fun and my first tri-fold card!

I just can't get enough of this Mini Monsters cartridge! It is so much fun to play!! Here is a little gift I put together for my secret sister at my church. I taped the different cuts onto pencils and stuck them in some of that green foam that is used for flowers. Most of the stuff can be found in the dollar section at Target but makes such a fun little gift for someone.
The second project is my first tri-fold card! This was a lot of fun to make and I loved how it turned out!! I am definitely going to have to make more of these. The best part is they fit into an A2 envelope!! If you would like directions on how to do this type of card, just leave me a comment with your email and I will gladly send it to you.

Thanks for looking!

I love all of the images and hope I get all my ideas created before Halloween arrives :-) Here is another little card and soap holder I put together to send to my sister who lives in Virginia!! I just found the drippy goo punch today at JoAnns and was able to use my 40% off coupon!! The punch was not in the craft section, it was in the halloween decor section (go figure)!

Have a "Fang"tastic day!

Random Act of Kindness

We had a challenge over at http://www.mypinkstamper.com/ to do something as an act of kindness for someone else. Today was a perfect day! I was watching my friends son for her (single mom) and she just had a super rough start to her morning and I wanted to do something nice for her. So, when she gets off of work, she is going to see this little goody bag and card I put together for her! I think it will give a happier ending to the day she had :-)

Now I want to challenge you to give something to someone "just because"! It will be a blessing to both of you, I guarantee it :-)

Stair Step Birthday Card

Hey everyone!
Today I am going to share a card that I made for my nephew who is turning one in a week! His birthday is a "Beach" theme so I like trying to coordinate :-) I used create a critter for everything but the clouds and the one which were plantin schoolbook. I then used my cuttlebug to give some texture to the clouds and waves. I inked the brown to make the sand look more life like. I used pop dots to give a lot more dimension and finished it off with stickles. The Happy Birthday is from a clear stamp set I found at Hobby Lobby (not the best quality but all I can really afford right now!) Thanks for looking!

eco-friendly lunch box review from easylunchboxes.com

Eco-Friendly lunchbox review from
I don't know about you, but it seems like every year when school rolls around we are going out to buy another new lunch bag because the one from the year before is destroyed!! I have never been a fan of the bags we have had in the past because they don't hold very much! Here is a solution to that problem :-) http://www.easylunchboxes.com/ A mom just like many of us was struggling with packing her kids healthy lunches for school. She was always using baggies and just trying to make it work. Her solution: Eco-friendly lunch box and special containers to eliminate the use of bags.

I received a sample to try and I was really impressed! The bag itself is very roomy and fully lined to keep things cold or hot! I also received four containers with matching lids. The containers are wonderful because they are divided into 3 separate spaces. There is a large space for a sandwich, salad or other main course and two other spaces that you could put side items into. The food stays separated and fits perfectly into the bag leaving A LOT of room to add fruit, a thermos, or water bottle. I even was able to put more than one container in the lunch bag at a time and use it to take my little boys' lunch to the park!!

Here are some of the specifics from the website: " http://www.easylunchboxes.com/ offers a reusable, superior solution at a much lower price than other companies. Great for large families or those on a limited budges. FDA approved, no BPA, phthalates, lead, vinyl or PVC. Safe for dishwasher, microwave, and freezer" " The cooler bags are made from the highest quality 300D polyester for premium durability and toughness. Vinyl free (PVC free) & lead free, with an FDA compliant PEVA lining."

I LOVE my lunch bag and containers! Head on over to their website and check them out! They have many great colors to choose from. I promise you won't be disappointed!!

Pink Stamper Father's Day Challenge

http://www.pinkstamper.com/ is giving away a Cricut Expression!! All you have to do is create an original Father's Day card or layout and upload it to her site for a chance to win. My husband is a HUGE Cubs Fan so I found this city outline on my potpourri cartridge that kind of looks like Chicago and then used the All Star and Baseball cut on potpourri cartridge! I used gold stickles for the window and the star to add a little sparkle! It will go great with his Cubs tickets he is getting for Father's Day!!

National Scrapbooking Day!! Pink Stamper challenges (Challenge 12)

Last Challenge of the Day. Create a card with a critter or animal on it. This is the perfect excuse to use my create a critter yet again. Here is a cute card I put together with my little skunk from create a critter. Enjoy!

National Scrapbooking Day!! Pink Stamper challenges (Challenge 8)

This challenge is make something with a monochromatic theme. I chose yellow (as if you couldn't tell). All of the papers are yellow except for the brown I had to put in on the banana. I used create a critter again!

National Scrapbooking Day!! Pink Stamper challenges (Challenge 7)

Challenge 7 is make something "Dad" related. Here is a scrapbook page I put together to celebrate last year's Father's Day! (Yes, I am that far behind) :-) I used Cutting up for the letters and George for the Stars. Simple and guy like at the same time!

National Scrapbooking Day!! Pink Stamper challenges (Challenge 6)

For Challenge number 6 we are supposed to make something Kid Friendly. Well, I am trying to catch up on scrapbooking so I did a layout for my son as I am doing his first year album. I used my favorite cartridge, Create a Critter and it made the page for me :-)

National Scrapbooking Day!! Pink Stamper challenges (Challenge 5)

This challenge is a teacher appreciation project. I hand cut the ruler and took the worm and apple from Create a critter. I had some cork paper laying around which worked out perfectly for a "bulletin board"! I am a teacher and would love getting a card like this!! I am really happy how it turned out :-)

National Scrapbooking Day!! Pink Stamper challenges (Challenge 4)

Ok, so I skipped Challenge 3 because I needed to help make a grocery list and play with my kidlets, but here is Challenge 4. This challenge is called, "I like you the least". The idea is to pick a cartridge that you like or use the least. I chose the Storybook cartridge. It has beautiful cuts on it and I use the alphabet on occasion but I realized that the cuts are really pretty and intricate and I don't get a lot of use out of them as much as my others. This is what I came up with.

National Scrapbooking Day!! Pink Stamper challenges (Challenge 2)

2nd Challenge of the day is to make a project using scraps of paper. I pulled these scraps together for a scrapbook page and used my Create a critter cartridge, wild card, and design studio
