Bling!

Hey Everyone!!

Last March, I tried a Zumba class for the first time and absolutely LOVED it! It's a great cardio and lower body workout, plus it is so much fun!! I love when exercise doesn't feel like exercise!

I have a pair of plain workout capris that I always wear to Zumba and just got the Rhinestone Heat Transfer Kit on Saturday. I cut the rhinestone zumba template on my silhouette and used my iron to transfer them on!

This entire project took me 10 minutes and I love how it turned out!

Cute huh?! Can't wait to wear them to Zumba tonight ;-)

Check back tomorrow because I will have another heat transfer project up and you won't want to miss it!!

Have a great day!

My First Subway Art Project!

Hi Everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you my first "Subway Art" Project! I got this hard 9x12 canvas for free from Michaels a few months ago and was just holding onto it until I could figure out what to do with it.

I thought it would work great for something Valentine's Day and I had a bunch of red vinyl I was trying to use up. I created all the words with fonts from my computer and placed the words where I wanted them.

My problem came when I tried to adhere the vinyl to the canvas. IT WON'T STICK!! I was so annoyed but wasn't giving up. I actually went word by word and put a thin layer of modge podge underneath. Unfortunately, not everything ended up super straight because it slipped around but now it is dry and not going anywhere.

I definitely love the look of it and I have some ideas for my kitchen and other areas using this technique. I just need to figure out what is going to work best!

Oh well... live, learn and then try it again a different way :-)

Have a great day!

Laundry Humor!

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a fun project for you that I have been wanting to do for awhile. I have seen this on a lot of message boards and thought it would be a cute way to spruce up my laundry room! I had left over bits of vinyl that I used on this project and it ended up being about 13.5 inches wide. It easily adhered to the cabinet over my hamper and I LOVE IT!!

haha! Isn't it fun?!

Have a great Monday!

Simple Birthday Card

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a simple card that I was able to put together in less than 15 minutes!! The best thing about this card is it can easily be changed into a thank you, thinking of you, or many other sentiments just by changing what you write on the tag! I used one of Pink Cricut's stamps for the Happy Birthday!

Have a wonderful day!

My First Glass Etching project!

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year! One of my resolutions is to do a much better job keeping up with my blog. I was out of town the entire first week of January so this is my first post of the New Year!

I have been wanting to try glass etching for awhile but was afraid that I would mess it up so I kept holding off. Well, I found a cute jar with lid at Walmart and wanted to fill it with homemade cookies for a sweet friend of mine. She LOVES anything Disney so I decided to try my hand at etching Mickey ears onto the jar.

I used vinyl to make the stencil and put plenty of etching cream on, waited ten minutes and washed it off! I was amazed at how well it turned out!

Happy New Year!!

Monster Mash Candle Project!

Hi Everyone!
I am so excited about the project I have for you today!! I was trying to figure out what kind of halloween decoration would look good on a shelf that was looking kind of bare. I started looking and saw this old candle holder with these red candles on it that I keep in another spot in my house. A lightbulb went off and I got to work!
Here is the candles before:
Here is the after picture!
For the mummy, I first put some googly eyes on a black sheet of paper and adhered it with tape to my candle. I then cut strips of white paper and inked them. They were just layered with tape however I thought it looked good. I cut the spider from my potpourri cartridg and the mummy was done.
For Frankenstein, I cut the green paper to fit, inked it and added the black hair (cut by hand). For the face, I cut to white circle at .75 and two black circles at .50. For the eyelids and nose, I cut two more circles in green at .75 and cut them in half. I used pop dots to rais them up off of the eye balls. The mouth and stitches were hand drawn with a black marker. Isn't he cute!?
For the pumpkin, everything is hand cut because I didn't want him to look perfect. I just cut the orange paper to fit the candle and inked it a little. I inked the eyes, nose and mouth and used the leaves I cut to make the hair.
I absolutely love how it turned out and it looks great on my shelf!! I post a lot of projects on my facebook site, Creatively Crafty! If you like my page, you will be able to see when I add a new blog post and I have occasional contests!!
Have a Spooktacular Day,
Rebekah

BOO!!

Hi Everyone!
Today I have a fun home decor idea made using my Bind it All and Cricut! I cut heavy duty chipboard and rounded the edges. Then I used Modge Podge to adhere my paper to the chipboard. The letters are from the "Cuttin Up" cricut cartridge which I inked with black ink, then I cut the spider and witches hat from the "Mini Monsters" cartridge. The embellishments were in the dollar craft section at walmart!!! I used my bind it all to hook it all together. I can't wait to put this up on my shelf for Halloween!!

Thanks for looking!
