Angry Birds Birthday Party!

Hi Everyone,
Life has been extremely crazy since my last post and I am finally finding time to start posting again.  My oldest just turned 5 a couple weeks ago and he wanted an Angry Birds Party.  I had a lot of fun creating everything and my son loved t!!

The invitation!

I used my cameo's print and cut feature for the back of this invitation.  The font is called "Feast of Flesh"

I found this fun game on pinterest and knew I definitely wanted to do the same thing.  I used chunky soup cans and martha stewart acrylic paint for this project.  I free handed the pigs faces (wasn't too difficult).  I found the ball at Walmart for $1.50 and just painted on the birds face with acrylic paint.

It was a real hit at the party ;-)

My husband and I worked together on the cake.  He made the fondant and I created everything you see on top of the cake (except the twix!)  We used marshmallow fondant and wilton food gel.  It was actually not too difficult to make!

I used my silhouette cameo to make the sign and the TNT box.  The rocks are from Duff at Michaels.

The twix were perfect to build with and looked like wood :-)

Here is an up close look at the pigs!

For party favors I decided to do ornaments.  My son's birthday is about a month from Christmas and I wanted to do something that everyone would want to keep.  I found these plastic ornaments at Hobby Lobby and got a great deal with my coupon.  I glittered the inside red and then used vinyl to put the faces on the outside.  On the back side I wrote "Thanks for Crashing Zach's Party" and then I added the date :-)

I love doing centerpieces for my kids' parties.  I whipped these up on my cameo and cut the "5" out of vinyl to personalize it a bit more.

I also try to have the food fit the theme.  I made little signs and had them sitting next to the different food on the table.  We had Dorito flavored pig ears (chips).  Cheesy Pig tails (spiral mac and cheese)  Shredded pork, and pigs in a blanket.  I didn't get a close up of those but they are on the front of the table in the next picture.  The bucket to the left was from the dollar store and I just added a face with vinyl.

I got most of his balloons at the dollar store (much better deal than party city) and the angry birds balloon from Walmart.  I used vinyl to personalize the balloons.

Another thing I sent the kids home with were Angry Birds Graham crackers that I found at Walmart. I put them into little baggies and made toppers for them that said "Thank you".

The party was so much fun!  I rented a bounce house and the kids never got bored :-)

Here is a picture of the birthday boy!  I made his shirt too :-)

Every year I get a picture with just him and I at his party!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

"Fishing" you a happy birthday!

Hi Everyone,
Today I have a fun birthday card for you.  I saw this adorable fish and balloon set in the silhouette store and new it would go perfect with one of my Pink by Design Sentiments!  Click here if you would like to see what other stamps come with this set! So many possibilities!!

For this card I used all Recollections card stock.  The base is a piece of black card stock cut to 5x10 and then I folded it in half to get a 5x5 base.  I ran the blue card stock through my cuttlebug to give it more texture and inked the sand, fish and balloon with brown ink.  I used my white gel pen to faux stitch around the border of the card, stamped my sentiment and finished it off with twine from Pink by Design that you can find here.

Doesn't the sentiment work perfectly with this card!?

Thank you for stopping by today :-)

Valentine's Day Countdown (day 3)

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a card that technically isn't a Valentine's Day theme but the colors still work ;-)  A few posts ago, I showed you some aprons and cake mix gift I had finished for a birthday party this weekend.  Well, I found this shape card on Silhouette and adapted it to work for a birthday card!  The Hello Kitty is actually cut right out of the invitation for the party! As usual the sentiment is from Pink by Design :-)

I love how well zebra print and pink goes together!  I think the Birthday girls will love it ;-)

Have a great day!

Fun Birthday Gift idea Part 2

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I showed you some fun aprons that I did for a birthday gift. Today, I am going to show you the rest of the gift. This idea can be used for other celebrations or holidays also, just change up the sentiment on it.

I found this adorable idea on papertrey inks site. I wrapped a box of cake mix with two pieces of cardstock. Box sizes are all a little different so just measure it out before you do it. I then added a strip of card stock that I had scored to fit tubes filled with sprinkles. I found my tubes at hobby lobby in the jewelry section. I believe I got six of them for less than two dollars with my coupon! I then used another piece of cardstock to make the cover that goes over the tubes.
I then wrapped one piece of ribbon up and around both sides of the box to give it handles and make it sturdy. I can carry it by the handles and it holds the weight perfectly.

The front pocket I designed on my own my measuring, cutting and scoring until it fit. I used one of my border punches for the top.

I found the zebra print paper at hobby lobby and thought it would be perfect to match the aprons from yesterday. I then used the print and cut function on my silhouette to get the cute cupcake tag for the front.

To finish it off, I hand cut the flap on the top and secured it with velcro. This makes it easy to open it to get to the sprinkles! The twine and Happy Birthday sentiment are both from Pink by Design!

I absolutely love how this turned out and I am definitely going to give a lot of these this year! So easy and inexpensive to do!

Have a great day!

Fun Birthday Gift idea!

Hi Everyone,

I have a super fun gift idea for you today. We are going to a birthday party in a couple weeks for adorable, soon to be 4, twin girls! I was really struggling with an idea for a gift because they have EVERYTHING!! I decided to walk through Hobby Lobby and see if I could get any inspiration and came across some adorable child size zebra print aprons. I thought it would be super cute to put their first initial on each apron and then give them baking stuff that they can do with their mom :-)

I ordered some t-shirt heat transfer vinyl in a really pretty sparkly pink and used the Curlz font on my computer to make the initial. The cutting and transfer took all of ten minutes! I LOVE how they turned out!

Didn't they turn out cute?! The pink is brighter than it shows in the picture and really stands out! The little gift you see with the aprons is a sneak peak! I will post that whole project tomorrow!

Have a great day!

Simple Birthday Card

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a simple card that I was able to put together in less than 15 minutes!! The best thing about this card is it can easily be changed into a thank you, thinking of you, or many other sentiments just by changing what you write on the tag! I used one of Pink Cricut's stamps for the Happy Birthday!

Have a wonderful day!

~Rebekah
