Hi Everyone!
I am so excited today to be part of this fun blog hop! When Sarah over at Pink Cricut asked if I would join her and Amy Chomas in a Silhouette Cameo inspired blog hop, I was thrilled!! I love my Cameo!! If you asked me to pick my favorite feature, I couldn't. I love everything about it!
If you have come from Kelly over at http://findingtimetocreate.blogspot.com/, then you are in the right place. You definitely want to start at the beginning of the hop so you don't miss a thing!!
It was so hard for me to pick just one project because the silhouette has so much it can do! That being said, I combined two of it's features :-) I decided to put a couple of 3D projects together from the Silhouette Store and then use the "Print and Cut" feature to finish it off.
The 3D designs in the store are so easy to assemble and look beautiful when they are done. I started with the 3D Toolbox, but I left the handle off so I had more room inside. I decided I wanted to fill it with these beautiful 3D strawberries, which I filled with candy! I used my Silhouette studio to change the sizes up to what I wanted and then ran them through my Cuttlebug to give them the look of real strawberries. I used my cuttlebug on the leaves also and inked the edges just to add a little bit more detail to them. The strawberries come together with twine or ribbon and took no time to put together. The smaller ones are a perfect fit for Hershey Kisses ;-)
The tag is a "Print and Cut" feature of the silhouette. I made it the size I wanted in the studio and printed it on my printer. The Silhouette reads the registration marks and cuts it out perfectly! I hand wrote the sentiment to go with my strawberries and LOVE how it turned out!
Here is a detailed view of the leaves...
...and here is the tag! The silhouette cut it out perfectly!!
It wouldn't be a blog hop without some type of blog candy now would it?! If you become a follower and leave a comment on what your favorite thing about the cameo is so far, I will send one lucky follower all the cuts I used to make this kit (embossed and inked also) so you can make this project and see how easy it is to put together (even if you don't own the cameo...yet)! Plus, a picture never does it justice and it does look even more delicious in person! Make sure you leave a way for me to get a hold of you :-)
I am now going to send you on your way to the super talented Gaby!
If you get lost along the way, here is a list of everyone in the blog hop!
Thank you for visiting me today!
~Rebekah
This is so beautiful, Rebekah! I love all of the detail you put in it! I'm so happy to be a part of this hop with you!

O wow this is super cute, I love how you embossed the strawberries!! I don't own a cameo but i really really really want one!! I love all the different files you can buy individually and not have to buy a cartridge which can be a waste of money if you only use a couple of the cuts!! I would really love to be sent the stuff to make this project. I am a new follower.

Super cute project!!! I've had an SD for years and constantly told my husband that I wished it had a bigger cutting area. Hands down, that's my favorite thing about the Cameo. I also really love it's improved cutting. So awesome!!

I WISH I could tell you what my favorite thing is about the Cameo, BUT... mine is not here yet, so I'll have to come back and tell you once I get it, lol. Crumbs - you are so right that there is sooo much to do with the Cameo - I like how you have combined Cameo cuts with Cuttlebug embossing - my two fave 'tools'. Love the strawberries. Thanks for the lesson.

ReplyDeleteHi love your project very sweet so far I think i like the versatility of the Cameo though i don't have one myself I appreciate the chance to win some cuts thanks
ReplyDeleteLove the Strawberries!! Embossing them makes them look good enough to eat, and changing the toolbox into a strawberry basket....very novel.
ReplyDeleteYour project gave me a neat idea for next Christmas.....adding the idea to my ever growing list of Cameo projects. Owning such a versatile machine means my list is getting VERY long.

Your basket of strawberries is just adorable!!! how creative to use the tool box! Glad to be in this hop with you!
ReplyDeleteLove the tool box with strawberries. My favorite thing is the print and cut. Since discovering how easy it is to do I've had to buy ink for my printer more often.

ReplyDeleteI have the SD but would love to upgrade to the Cameo because of the new features it has. However, I love what the silhouette can do, and have been playing with the sketch pens feature. Your project is adorable!

I love your project! I'm like you, I have difficulty deciding what my favorite thing is about the Cameo because I like ALL it can do. I guess I get the most ooohs and ahhhs from my heat transfer projects - probably because they get seen by more people than most of my other projects! I'm a new follower. Thanks for doing the hop!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute, love the cute strawberries. TFS

Hi Rebekah,
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your "sweet" project!!! :) The Cameo I got for Christmas is still sitting in its box and I keep hoping that my sil will come to town before the end of the month so I can use it to make my mother a birthday present! The funny thing is that I resisted buying a $25 die to make a similar strawberry box and I was so excited when I saw an svg for one for $8. Now I am ECSTATIC knowing that the one you used is only $.99 in the Silhouette store!!!!!!!!!!!! You did a great job-I love all the detail from the embossing!
Thank you so much for sharing,
Jennifer

ReplyDeleteI love the strawberries! How creative! The thing I love thus far about the Cameo is the versatility of it all! It appears that you can do everything but drive a car with it! I can't wait to play with mine (once it arrives in the mail that is) Thank you for sharing your creativity with us! And of course for the opportunity to win neat blog candy.
